Another standard that provides information on scratch resistance is the MOHS standard. This standard classifies tiles from 1 to 10. The higher the tile's ranking (between 8 and 10), the less it can be scratched. The last very useful standard to make your choice is the UPEC classification. Very complete, this classification provides information on several points:
- The U stands for Wear,
- The P is the punching index (heels of shoes, feet of furniture, etc.),
- The E is the porosity index (water and other liquids)
- C is the chemical resistance index.
Each of these 4 letters gives a score from 1 to 4, which helps a lot depending on the criteria you need to choose the tile for the room.
